Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud continued his impressive County Championship form with a four-wicket haul for Kent against Worcestershire, with teammate Matt Milnes hailing him as the team’s “X-factor”.

Hasan took 4-68 as Kent bowled Worcestershire out for 217 in their first innings at Canterbury on Friday.

The 26-year-old, who had already claimed 12 wickets in his first two county matches, once again made a decisive impact.

“Hasan brings something special to our attack,” Milnes said. “He has good pace and a slightly different action, which makes him difficult for batters to pick. He is a fantastic bowler and brings that X-factor. We are fortunate to have him.”

Kent had earlier scored 238 to take a 21-run first-innings lead. As play continued on the third day, Worcestershire were still trailing by 332 runs with three wickets remaining.
