According to a ANI report, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is now seeking a window early in 2027, as the previously scheduled September 2026 dates remain uncertain.
“The India-Bangladesh series is likely to be held in January. Discussions with the government are still ongoing, while the BCB is now seeking a window at the beginning of next year,” a BCCI source told ANI.
India were initially scheduled to tour Bangladesh in August 2025, but the series was later postponed to September 2026.
The BCB announced in January that the tour would feature three ODIs and three T20Is in Dhaka and Chattogram. However, the BCCI has yet to officially confirm the tour.
Relations between the two boards had deteriorated following the BCB's announcement, particularly after Kolkata Knight Riders released Bangladesh all-rounder Mustafizur Rahman from their IPL squad.
However, relations have reportedly improved since Tamim Iqbal became BCB president. Earlier this month, Tamim travelled to India and reportedly visited the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, raising hopes of improved ties between the two boards.
