The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed on Saturday that Litton has made sufficient progress in his rehabilitation and is now available for selection for the first Test, which begins in Darwin on August 13.
The 31-year-old has been sidelined since June with the injury but responded well to his recovery programme. He is scheduled to fly to Darwin on Sunday to join the Bangladesh squad.
Litton's return strengthens Bangladesh's batting unit ahead of their historic Test series in Australia, where Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the side and Mehidy Hasan Miraz will serve as vice-captain.
