Pakistan have reiterated their support for Bangladesh’s decision not to travel to India for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) now awaiting guidance from the country’s government on whether they will also withdraw from the tournament.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that Pakistan had formally written to the ICC and were the only member nation to vote in favour of Bangladesh’s request. With Bangladesh’s exit from the tournament now confirmed, Naqvi said Pakistan could follow the same path, depending on the government’s decision.

“What ICC has done to Bangladesh is unfair. We stand by them. We are waiting for our prime minister to return and if the Pakistan government decides we will also pull out of the T20 World Cup. Let ICC then look for a 22nd team,” Naqvi said.

Pakistan had earlier offered to host Bangladesh’s World Cup matches if Sri Lankan venues were not available, underlining their continued support amid the ongoing dispute.
