The Lanka Premier League (LPL) Champions Galle Gallants are exploring the possibility of entering the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), with discussions already underway with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the BPL Governing Council.

Galle Gallants’ Chief Commercial Officer Sharath Sriramoju said the franchise is hopeful of securing a BPL franchise and becoming part of Bangladesh’s premier T20 competition.

“We are hopeful about getting a franchise in the BPL. We are working on it and hope to be seen in Bangladesh. Discussions are also underway with BCB and the BPL Governing Council officials.” Sriramoju said.

The interest from Galle Gallants comes as the franchise looks to expand its presence in regional franchise cricket.

The franchise has already featured several Bangladeshi players in the LPL, including Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Nurul Hasan Sohan, further strengthening its ties with Bangladesh cricket.
