Lahore Qalandars have added Dunith Wellalage to their squad for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League, replacing West Indies spinner Gudakesh Motie who has withdrawn from the tournament.

The 23-year-old Sri Lankan left-arm spinner will now join a squad that already features Bangladesh players Mustafizur Rahman and Parvez Hossain Emon, strengthening the Qalandars’ bowling and lower-order options.

Wellalage arrives alongside Dasun Shanaka, Sri Lanka’s T20I captain, who Lahore earlier picked during the PSL auction.

The young all-rounder impressed in the recent ICC Men's T20 World Cup, claiming eight wickets at an economy rate of 7.22. Besides his spin bowling, Wellalage is also capable with the bat and can contribute useful runs down the order.
