Sialkot Stallionz have appointed former Australia captain Tim Paine as their head coach for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 season.

The appointment marks Paine’s first coaching role in the PSL after gaining experience in Australia’s Big Bash League, where he worked with the Adelaide Strikers following his retirement from playing.

The Stallionz are one of two new franchises added to the PSL ahead of the 2026 edition.

Just days after the Hyderabad franchise named former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie as head coach, Sialkot have also turned to Australian expertise by bringing in a former international captain.

The move was reported on Thursday, January 29, and later hinted at through the franchise’s social media channels.

With this decision, both new PSL franchises will begin their journeys under the guidance of former Australian internationals.
