The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has released the full schedule for the 28th edition of the National Cricket League, with four matches set to be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
The first-class tournament, featuring eight divisional teams, will run for nearly seven weeks, with the final round scheduled to conclude on November 17.
Before the tournament begins, the captains of all eight teams will receive their baggy caps at a special ceremony on Wednesday, September 16.
Former cricketers who represented their respective divisions in the National Cricket League will present the caps to the captains.
Defending champions Rangpur will face Dhaka in Mirpur in the opening round. Elsewhere, Khulna will take on Barishal at the Khulna Divisional Stadium, Sylhet will face Mymensingh at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, while Chattogram and Rajshahi will meet at Bir Shrestha Motiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram.
In the single-tier competition, each team will play every other side once, giving all eight teams seven matches each. The team finishing top of the points table will be crowned champions.
After several recent editions were played with the Duke ball, the NCL will return to the Kookaburra ball this season.
Apart from Mirpur, Chattogram, Sylhet and Khulna, matches will also be played at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium, the academy ground of the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura and the Cox’s Bazar Academy Ground.
