Bangladesh have scored 76-0 at stumps in reply to Sri Lanka's 397 in the first innings at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on Monday.


Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudul Hasan Joy were unbeaten on 39 and 31 runs respectively at the close of the day's play as Bangladesh still trails by 321 runs.

Nayeem Hasan was the pick of the bowling attack as he scalped six wickets, while Shakib al Hasan took three wickets.

Angelo Mathews missed his double ton by only one run, scored 199 off 397 balls which featured 19 boundaries and a six. 


Nayeem picked up two wickets just before the draw of the first session of Day 2. He ended the 136-run partnership between Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal by dismissing Chandimal on 66 and got rid of Niroshan Dickwella (3) in the same over. 


Chandimal scored 66 in 148 balls with two fours and three sixes. 


Earlier on Day 1, the tourists reached 258 for four at stumps after electing to bat first on what looked like a placid pitch in Chittagong
