Rangpur Riders have bolstered their squad ahead of the 2025 GSL T20 with the inclusion of Afghan international all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, adding further firepower to an already well-rounded unit aiming to defend their title.

Omarzai, known for his hard-hitting lower-order batting and handy pace bowling, joins a star-studded lineup featuring experienced internationals and proven domestic performers.

His addition comes as the Riders prepare to build on their success from last season, where they bounced back from a shaky start to win the final three games and lift the GSL title in style.
With this move, the Riders continue to assert themselves as one of the most formidable teams in the tournament, representing a legacy of success from their days in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Champions in 2017 and consistent playoff contenders since, Rangpur now have their eyes set on retaining their GSL crown.
Skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan returns to lead the side, supported by key players such as Soumya Sarkar—last season’s top run-scorer—and Kamrul Islam Rabbi, the team’s pace spearhead.

The franchise has also retained promising domestic names like Mohammed Naim Sheikh, Mahidul Islam Ankon, and Abu Haider Rony.
