Tanzid climbs 8 spots, Litton makes progress in ICC ranking

Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan’s fine batting display against the Netherlands has reflected in the latest ICC rankings, as he jumped eight places among T20I batsmen. Skipper Litton Das has also moved up one spot. The ICC released its updated men’s weekly rankings on Wednesday.

Tanzid is now ranked 36th among T20I batsmen, the highest for any Bangladeshi in the list. Captain Litton sits at 47th.

In the first T20I in Sylhet, Tanzid scored 54 off 40 balls with two sixes and four fours while chasing 104, guiding Bangladesh to victory. Liton contributed an unbeaten 18 off 18 with two fours.
In the second match, Tanzid managed 29 off 24 with two boundaries, while Litton stole the show with a blistering 54 off 29 balls, laced with two sixes and six fours, again sealing the win for Bangladesh.

There was no further progress for other Bangladeshi batsmen. In fact, Towhid Hridoy slipped six places to 48th and Jaker Ali dropped four spots to 63rd after missing out with the bat.

Among bowlers, Mustafizur Rahman remains Bangladesh’s highest-ranked at 12th after taking three wickets across the two games. Sheikh Mehedi Hasan sits 17th, having picked up one wicket.
Taskin Ahmed, who grabbed six wickets in two matches, including a match-winning four-for in the second game, also stays unchanged at 25th. Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has dropped one place to 21st, while pacer Shoriful Islam fell three spots to 50th.
