Originally, Bangladesh were scheduled to host India this August for three ODIs and three T20Is. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) cancelled the tour citing security concerns.
With no international fixtures lined up for almost one and a half months before the Asia Cup, the BCB extended an invitation to the Netherlands, which they accepted.

All matches of the series will take place at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The Dutch players will rest today after reaching Sylhet, while practice sessions are scheduled for tomorrow evening and the following afternoon.
