India set to host Australia for Border-Gavaskar Trophy

India set to host Australia for four-match Test series named the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, stated by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) on Thursday.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin in Nagpur from February 9-13. The next two Test matches between India and Australia will be played in Delhi (February 17-21), Dharamsala (March 1-5). Delhi will be hosting a Test match after five years.

"The Mastercard Australia tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will kickstart in Nagpur from the 9th of February. Team India will then play the next three Test matches in Delhi, Dharamsala & Ahmedabad. This will also be the last edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy which will be a 4-match Test series feature," read the statement by BCCI.

Ahmedabad, the largest stadium which will host 132,000-capacity spectators named after current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will host the climax of Australia’s first men's Test series in India in six years.

The series will also be the last edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy being a four-match Test series feature, with the Future Tours Programme (FTP) saying that the series will become a five-match fixture. 

India men’s team will also host Sri Lanka and New Zealand, featuring all formats, comprising nine ODIs, six T20Is in January.
