Australian batter Alex Ross has already featured twice in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and is eager to return for the upcoming edition. The 31-year-old hopes to be picked in the next players’ draft.

Ross first made his mark in the 2023–24 season, shining for Dhaka with an impressive campaign. In 11 matches, he scored 352 runs at a strike rate of nearly 135, including four half-centuries.

Speaking to Cricfrenzy, Ross, who is currently playing in Top End T20 for Adelaide Strikers, said, “I’ve played in two BPL seasons so far — once for Dhaka and last year for Khulna. I really enjoy this tournament; it’s very emotional, and the crowd is fantastic. The wickets are more challenging than in Australia, but I like taking on challenges, and I back myself against spin.”

“I hope someone picks me. Khulna was great, Dhaka was great — wherever the opportunity comes, it will be amazing.”
During his last stint with Khulna, Ross shared the dressing room with young wicketkeeper-batter Mahidul Islam Ankon, whose power-hitting impressed him. He also praised Shakib Al Hasan, describing the Bangladesh star as a “legend.”
“Ankon was brilliant for us at Khulna. He’s still young but can hit sixes from the very first ball. I’m looking forward to facing him soon when we play against Bangladesh. I like Ankon, and I’ve also played a bit with Shakib. He was really nice to me — and of course, he has been a legend for a long time.”
