Before the last T20 World Cup, Mohsin Sheikh was appointed as Bangladesh’s performance analyst during the home series against Zimbabwe. However, ahead of the West Indies tour, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) terminated his contract and brought in Akshay Hiremath as the new performance analyst.

Initially, the Indian analyst was appointed to work with the Bangladesh team until the upcoming Champions Trophy. But now, BCB has decided to renew his contract.

A BCB source confirmed the development to Cricfrenzy. Akshay arrived from India on August 21 and has already joined the national side in Sylhet.
This marks his first time serving as the lead analyst of an international team. Previously, he worked with Australia, the Netherlands, and IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals in supporting roles.

Though he was an assistant analyst during those stints, Akshay also brings valuable domestic experience from India. Most recently, he worked with Gulbarga Mystics in the Maharaja T20 Trophy. Additionally, he spent three years at Indian sports data provider Kadamba Technologies.
