With the BCB elections drawing closer, there is growing speculation that the 36-year-old, whose playing career is in doubt following a heart attack in March during a DPL match, may contest.
Though he said a decision on returning to the field would come after three months, his involvement in a new sports association hints at a potential future in cricket administration.
Also present at the event were former footballer and BNP leader Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, ex-football captain Aminul Islam, and former cricket skipper Khaled Mashud Pilot.
