The third day's play was called off due to bad light, Bangladesh posted 38-2 before the umpires stopped the play during the second Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.
Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque were unbeaten on 16 and 0 runs at the close of the day as Bangladesh are leading the visitors by 30 runs.
After stumbling at 180 runs, New Zealand spinners quickly took two wickets, giving a strong start as batter Mahmudul Hasan Joy and skipper Najmul Hasan Shanto were removed by Ajaz Patel and Tim Southee.
Shanto played a brief knock 24-ball 15 and Joy departed on 2 with a stunning catch by Daryll Mitchell.

Following a delay due to rain, New Zealand resumed on 55-5 on day 3, Glenn Philips's rapid 87 off 72 helped the visitors reach, leading by eight runs.

Miraz and Taijul Islam shared six wicket's together, taking three wickets each. Nayeem Hasan and Shoriful Islam picked up a couple of wickets.
Shoriful scalped the prized wicket of Phillips who was caught behind to wicket-keeper Nurul Hasan Sohan. The left-arm pacer earlier struck to break a 55-run stand between Phillips and Kyle Jamieson.
Phillips and fellow overnight batsman Daryl Mitchell took an aggressive approach and were rewarded with a stand of 49 for the sixth wicket, before Bangladesh had their first success of the day.
As Mehidy took a superb catch, running to his left from mid-on and diving at full length to dismiss Mitchell for 18 off Nayeem.
The second day was washed out without a single ball being bowled due to persistent rain in the venue.
Fifteen wickets fell in the first day with the tourists trailing by 117 after being held to 55-5 at stumps. Bangladesh opted to bat first and were all out for 172 runs in their first innings.
The hosts lead the two-match series 1-0 after a 150-run win in the opening Test in Sylhet.
