Jofra Archer doesn’t want play for West Indies

One of the most talented players to come out of West Indies
is Jofra Archer. The Barbados-born has introduced himself to the cricket
fraternity with his powerful hitting ability and uncanny pace bowling.
And now, after being signed for about $1,125,000 by
Rajasthan Royals, Archer has revealed his wish to play for England—and not West
Indies—someday. The sensational all-rounder believes that he would have a
prolonged career with England than Barbados.
"I think I have a longer career in England than I would
have in Barbados," he told Stumped on BBC World Service.
He then spoke of his disappointment at being overlooked by
the West Indian team for the 2014 World Cup.
"It was really upsetting and I think I took it too
seriously. That summer was the first summer I went to England," said
Archer.

"After playing with Sussex, I really think the
conditions in England suit me. I saw that it's possible to play for
England."
However, he also saw the bright side of it as he stated that
playing too early could have also been harmful for him.
"I'm still young now so I think it's a blessing really,
not to play so young. Who knows - I could have a bad game or a bad series, and
that could be me," he added.
Archer is an all-rounder who has gained superstar status
with his performances in the Big Bash League. He is someone who can bowl at 90
miles-per-hour while also dismantling bowlers with his bat. And he claims that
playing a lot of cricket before debuting in Test is a great thing, before
finally admitting that he wants his family to live in England.
"It's really good that I have some time to get to know
my game inside out before I actually play Test cricket."
"I live with my bowling coach at the moment, so
hopefully this year I can get my family over to come and see some of the [T20]
Blast, some of the four-day stuff," he added.
"I hope to get my own place so I can bring most of my
family over and let them experience some of England."
Jofra Archer isn’t yet eligible to play for England. He will have to wait till the winter of 2022 to complete his 7 years of residency in the country, after which he will be allowed to play for the Three Lions.
