Bangladesh-Pakistan T20I series trimmed to three matches

Originally, as per the Future Tours Programme (FTP), Bangladesh were scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is in Pakistan in May.

However, with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup looming, both boards mutually agreed to scrap the ODIs and expand the T20I series to five matches to focus on tournament preparation. Eventually, due to scheduling conflicts, the series was scaled back to three T20Is.
The tour had faced uncertainty due to scheduling overlaps with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and broader political tensions between India and Pakistan. The rescheduling of the PSL following its temporary suspension created a clash with Bangladesh’s tour window, raising doubts over the feasibility of the visit.

However, the issue was resolved during recent meetings between PCB and BCB officials in Dubai. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, BCB President Faruque Ahmed, and Chairman of Cricket Operations Nazmul Abedin Fahim participated in the talks.

Following successful discussions, both boards confirmed that Bangladesh will indeed travel to Pakistan for the three-match T20I series.
The matches will be played on May 27, May 29, and 31, all in Lahore. Prior to the Pakistan tour, Bangladesh are scheduled to play another T20I series of three matches against the United Arab Emirates.
The detailed itinerary and official announcement of the tour are expected to be released jointly by the PCB and BCB within the next couple of days.
