Shakib last featured in the CPL for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in 2022, where he played six matches, scoring 94 runs and taking 8 wickets.

Over the years, he has also represented the Barbados Tridents and Jamaica Tallawahs in the tournament.
Across 36 CPL appearances, Shakib has scored 448 runs at an average of 16.59 and a strike rate of 109.53. With the ball, he has claimed 37 wickets at an economy rate of 6.82, including a career-best 6 for 6 while playing for Barbados in 2013.
Expressing his excitement about the upcoming season, Shakib said, “I’m really looking forward to playing in this year’s CPL. I’ve played several seasons, won the title, and even played in a final. I have some great memories of this tournament. I’m excited to represent the Falcons this year.”
“If you look at CPL history, spinners have played a key role in team success. With two quality spinners in the side, the Falcons will definitely benefit. It’s a challenging tournament—most teams have built balanced squads and it’s hard to spot weaknesses. All six teams are title contenders, but I’m confident in my team and I’m eager to contribute for the Falcons” he added.
