The Bangladesh Premier League official said on Monday that they are not sure about hosting the BPL in January. However, the players’ draft will take place according to the schedule, on the 25 October.
The forthcoming edition of BPL, the country's lone franchise-based Twenty20 tournament, has already been postponed once. There is a possibility that the dates can be pushed back further further as the date for the national election is yet to announced by government.

“We had planned to host the tournament in January as we felt that the election will be in December but if the election date is changed than we have to accommodate accordingly,” BPL technical committee chairman Jalal Yunus told reporters on Monday.
“If the date is postponed than certainly it will be problem for the broadcaster but we will have to manage accordingly,” said Jalal.
“But we don’t have any plan to host it at any other time but let us see where it stands at the end,” he concluded.
Initially, the tournament was scheduled to be played in October but BCB changed the schedule in order to provide adequate security for BPL, and instead opted to host Zimbabwe during that time for three ODIs and two Tests.
