Bangladesh fast bowler Rubel Hossain said in a video message on Monday [July 5] that the team aims to win the full-edged series against Zimbabwe, which would include one Test, three ODIs, and an equal number of T20Is.
Bangladesh does not have a good record when playing away against Zimbabwe, having suffered a 2-1 defeat in ODIs while drawing both the Test and T20I series 1-1 during their last series in 2013.
"The last time we went to Zimbabwe we couldn't bring the trophy. Although, we a have a better and a balance team now. We have good cricketers in our team. If we can play good cricket then we can bring the trophy to Bangladesh this time InnshaAllah,” said Rubel.
Rubel Hossain had been suffering from back injury for a long time. However, he returned to the team after recovering from the injury. Rubel is in the ODI squad despite not being included in the Test and T20 squads for the Zimbabwe tour.
“I am healthy and fit. I faced little problem in DPL but now I am one hundred percent fit. If I get a chance, I will try my best. Since we have played many tours in such cold conditions. It is a little challenging for pace bowlers. However, pace bowlers have to play a big role in the Zimbabwe series,” he added.
