Pacer Syed Khaled Ahmed and batter Afif Hossain have been added to the squad for tomorrow’s third and final match of the series against New Zealand at SBNCS, Mirpur, a BCB press release said.

Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, who was originally picked for the third game, is unavailable for the match due to illness. Khaled replaced him in the squad.

While the majority of the players in the squad for the third ODI had shown up for practice today, Taskin was absent from the session as he had been rested and remains under observation.

A surprise inclusion of Afif has made by BCB, who was dropped after a poor form with the bat in the Asia Cup.

A BCB source said Mehidy Hasan Miraz has some discomfort in his leg and he is unlikely to play in the last match of the series. So Afif has been kept in the team as an alternative.

Bangladesh have made a few changes following their 86-run loss in the second ODI. Tamim Iqbal and Litton Das were rested while Soumya Sarkar was dropped.

Najmul Hossain Shanto, who will lead the team, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Taskin, and Shoriful Islam were added to the squad for the final ODI.

The New Zealand team are 1-0 up in the series after their win in the 2nd ODI.
