BCB appoint Sriram as technical consultant for WC

Former India allrounder Sridharan Sriram has been appointed as Technical Consultant of the Bangladesh Team for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India.

He will join the national team in Guwahati from the beginning of the team’s World Cup journey.

The Bangladesh side will travel to Guwahati for two practice matches of the World Cup on 29 September and 02 October against Sri Lanka and England respectively before moving to Dharamshala for the tournament opener against Afghanistan on 07 October.

Sriram had previously worked with the Bangladesh team as its Technical Consultant in the Asia Cup T20 in the UAE, Twenty20 tri-nation in New Zealand, and the ICC Twenty20 World Cup in Australia in 2022.

Sriram worked as an assistant coach of the Australia cricket team for six years since 2016 and has also been involved in the coaching staff of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He appeared in eight ODIs for India between 2000-2004 and had a distinguished first-class career spanning nearly 18 years.
