Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Akram Khan stated that there is nothing to worry about the Afghanistan spinners in the upcoming series, especially Rashid Khan, who he claimed is only good in T20Is and not in longer formats.

Akram believes Bangladesh has eligible batters to face the Afghans and sees it an opportunity for taking revenge for the previous defeat in 2019.

"The Test that we lost to Afghanistan in 2019. We played really well. But we lost that Test just for an hour. Of course their spinners are good. But we also have good batsmen in the team. I think we will do well if we play with responsibility," said Akram.

"Rashid Khan is definitely a good bowler and he does well in T20. But there is no such amazing performance in ODIs and Tests. In T20 every ball has to be played for runs, chances have to be taken. So if you play carefully, it won't be that hard," he said.

"This is an opportunity for us. Since we lost against them, now is the right time to avenge that match. The way we're playing, the momentum in the team. I hope we will do well this time,"

Akram, however, remarked that there is no scope to take Afghans lightly as they defeated Sri Lanka in their home series recently.

"Afghanistan should not be underestimated. They have many quality cricketers. The consistency of the batsmen is very good. If we take them lightly or think that they are like Ireland then it will be hit back on us. They are a strong team and beating Sri Lanka at their home ground is a big deal,"

"If we play proper cricket like we did against Ireland at home and away series, we will do well. Because we have home advantage. We have more experience in this field. So if we can take the opportunity, we will do well," he added.
