Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed is eager to make a quick comeback from injury with the upcoming Afghanistan series, starting in June.

Taskin suffered a side strain during the home series against Ireland last month, which ruled him out of the one-off Test and the ongoing three-match ODI series.

Taskin acknowledged that he is making a fast recovery and hope to begin practice within a week and a half. He also stated that he will be fully prepared before the Afghanistan series.

“My rehabilitation process is going well. Improved a lot. Hopefully, I will be able to start bowling at low intensity within a week. Totally depends on the actual progression. Hopefully, I will start bowling in a week and a half,” said Taskin.

“Working under the observation of the head of rehabilitation Julian. I am working according to his program also under the supervision of the Board,”

“Inshallah, I'm keen to make a comeback with the Afghanistan series. If there is no further problem, I will fully fit before the series,” he added.

Injuries have been following him from the beginning of his international career. In the last two years, however, he has changed himself a lot and emerged in a new form but injuries have struck him again.

Due to injury, Taskin cannot be regular in Test cricket. Last year, in December, he returned to red-ball cricket with the Mirpur Test against India. Earlier, this right-arm pacer did not play Tests due to injury for 7 months.
