Ireland fast-bowler Joshua Little will miss the upcoming Bangladesh and Sri Lanka tours due to his franchise commitments.

Ireland captain Andrew Balbirnie stated that the 23-year-old was bound to miss the upcoming series' as the player has been picked by the Multan Sultans in the PSL followed by his debut in the IPL, where he is set to represent the Gujarat Titans.

“Josh had an amazing 12 to 18 months and that is shown by getting picked up in the South African League in the IPL and the PSL and these opportunities are incredible. We are going to miss him (Joshua Little). He is not going to come here and play in the Bangladesh tour and he is not going to Sri Lanka for the Test tour and he will be back for Super League games against Bangladesh in May,” Balbirnie said to Cricbuzz.

“His opportunity to play in the IPL is really too good for him to turn down and it only helps Irish cricket I think that exposure. If he has a good IPL or PSL then those competitions will say well Ireland cricket must be going in the right direction. We wish him all the best and I watched him last night,” he added.

Ireland are set to play 3 ODIs and an equal number of T20Is and a lone Test against Bangladesh starting 18th March.

Following the tour of Bangladesh, the team is expected to travel to Sri Lanka in April for a standalone Test and two ODI games.
