Bangladesh chief selector Minhazul Abedin Nannu has called former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful a 'traitor' during a live session. Following that, Ashraful appeared on Facebook Live to protest Nannu's statement.

BCB's cricket operations committee, chairman Jalal Yunus admitted that Ashraful should not be attacked personally. The BCB official also said that he would discuss with the board president Nazmul Hasan Papon regarding the matter.

“Ashraful is a current player, he is also a former captain. Since he is still playing, it is not right to make such a personal attack.  We will talk about what happened. Let's see, we'll talk about it with the board president,” Jalal told the media on Monday.

"It is right to attack someone in this manner. You can't say something like that... being under the board. It was incorrect since you are in the selection panel. We discussed it today. We'll talk to the board president," he said.

In an interview, Ashraful said that selectors should serve for a fixed term. However, Ashraful did not take anyone’s name. Then Nannu attacked Ashraful as a fixer and a traitor in an interview.

“Ashraful has no idea how many years Australia's chief selector has worked. Has Australia lagged in cricket? We should all know that the chief selector of Australia has been working for almost 9-12 years,” said Nannu.

“Does that mean we have to appoint different selectors for three formats? He can’t speak clearly! We can’t expect good advice from cricketers who are traitors and were banned because of match-fixing, " he added.
