Bangladesh granted permission to begin practice

The Bangladesh cricket team has been allowed to begin practice in New Zealand after a long wait. Apart from spin bowling coach Rangana Herath, all the cricketers and coaching staff have returned negative in the Covid-19 test.
Bangladesh’s quarantine period was extended for three days by the Ministry of Health New Zealand after Herath tested positive for Covid-19 in Christchurch after joining the team from Sri Lanka.
Team Director Khaled Mahmud said, "Yesterday (December 19) we had a covid test. The result came this morning and we all returned negative. Now, we will be able to get out of here and begin our practice from tomorrow,”
"Tomorrow we will start our practice at 10.15 am at the Lincoln University ground, where we will also have the opportunity to start the gym. After that we can move around normally, we can train, we can do everything. We will be able to prepare ourselves for the first test match,” he added.
Bangladesh will play two warm-up matches after completing the mandatory quarantine. The first Test match will start on January 1, following that the second and final Test of the series will start on January 9 in Christchurch.
Bangladesh till date have played hosts New Zealand in nine Tests, 13 ODIs and four T20s, and has never won one.
