Pakistan posted 161 for 2 against Bangladesh at stumps after bad light drained the entire evening session on the opening day of the second Test at the Sher e Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam completed his 19th half-century and cautiously put on a 91-run partnership with Azhar Ali for the third wicket stand.

Pakistan dominated the second session of Day 1, scoring 83 runs in the 26 overs bowled without losing a single wicket after lunch.

Babar and Azhar were unbeaten on 60 and 36 respectively at the end of days play.

Pakistan made a decent start but Bangladesh's left-arm spinner Taijul Islam strike early to remove both the openers in the first session.

Taijul made the first blow by picking up Abdullah Shafique's wicket when the batter played for the turn but the ball found the gap between bat and pad and went on to hit the stumps. He departed on 25 while Abid Ali scored 39 before getting bowled out by Taijul.

Bangladesh has made three changes for the second match as ace-all rounder Shakib al Hasan has returned after sitting out the Pakistan T20Is and the first Test through a hamstring injury and the debutant Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Khaled Ahmed was called up.

Bangladesh will be eager to bounce back from the defeat in the first Test at Chattogram with the visitors 1-0 up in the two-Test series.
