Wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim had earlier said he would not play the T20 series against Zimbabwe as ODI captain Tamim Iqbal has also been ruled out due to injury.

Mahmudullah will definitely feel the lack of two reliable batsmen. However, the Bangladesh T20 captain also sees it as an opportunity. He hopes that all his teammates will be eager to use the opportunity to win the match for the country.

Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe in the first T20 on Thursday at the Harare Sports Club ground. The game will start at 4:30 pm Bangladesh time. The day before the match, Mahmudullah said that he will miss the lack of two regular players in the XI.

"We will definitely miss Tamim and Mushfiqur. They are definitely two impeccable players for our team. I would say, this is an opportunity for others and for all of us. To win every match for the country. Zimbabwe is a very good team on home soil. We have to play our best to defeat them” Mahmudullah said on Wednesday.

Bangladesh have never lost in a T20I series against Zimbabwe. They have won two of the five series, while the other three have been drawn.

Bangladesh is not having a good time in T20. Only three wins in the last 10 matches. Mahmudullah wants to turn around in this edition by using the confidence of winning in Tests and ODIs.

"I think every T20 match is challenging. It is difficult to say the favorite team in this version. Those who play well on the particular day are more likely to win the match” he added.
