Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque said no improvement in red ball game for the past 20 years after the 17-run defeat against the West Indies at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka Sunday. West Indies have clean swept the home side by 2-0.

Bangladesh has played 121 matches since its inception. Where the Tigers have won only 14 matches. The winning rate as a percentage is around ten. Considering the statistics of the Test playing nations, Bangladesh ranks 9th.

Despite playing Tests for 20 years, they have not improved that way, said the Bangladesh Test captain. However, he said there was room for improvement until death.

"Actually, it has been 20 years. But I don't think there has been any improvement in that way. And there is no end to the improvement. There is a chance until death. As long as we play, as long as we represent Bangladesh, we have to improve.” Mominul said.

Mominul's side have won just one since taking over as captain before the 2019 tour of India. After being whitewashed on foreign soil as a captain, the same fate befell him at home. He is absolutely disappointed after such a performance.

“We had the experience of whitewashing on foreign soil. Now It also happened on the home soil. You must be disappointed if the team loses. We have a lot to improve. If we can do that, maybe we can win matches at home and abroad.” he added
