Bangladesh cricketers Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman have applied to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for a no-objection certificate to play in the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The final decision on their participation in IPL will be announced at the board meeting on September 1.
Bangladesh Cricket Board cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan confirmed the development to the media on Sunday [August 29]. He also stated that it will be a great opportunity for the players to participate in a tournament like IPL.
“It is a good opportunity for us that our players will play in a tournament like the IPL. If they play well there, of course, we will play in that condition, it will benefit the team a lot. Their performance is very important. The board has been positive about their participation. I don't think there will be any problem,” said Akram.

As the white-ball series against England has been postponed to March 2023, the cricketers can now be able to participate without any hassle.
All-rounder Shakib and left-arm pacer Mustafizur will play for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) respectively.
The IPL, which was suspended on May 4 after multiple cases of COVID-19 inside its bio-bubble, will resume in the third week of September (likely on September 19) and end in the second week of October.
