Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan might miss the Canadian Global T20 Leauge as he expressed his desire to stay away from cricket for some days. Shakib was registered in the Brampton Wolves in the Global T20. He was set to play alongside Shahid Afridi, Lendl Simmons, Wahab Riaz and Darren Sammy in the Brampton Wolves. But that may not happen as Shakib requested rest for the Sri Lanka series and he might go to Mecca to perform ‘Holy Hajj’ after that. But BCB hasn’t decided anything regarding Shakib’s appeal for rest in the Sri Lanka series.
“As far I know, he (Shakib) will go to perform Hajj in that time. We haven’t decided anything about his rest,” Main selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu told Cricbuzz.

Sri Lanka series is about to start later this month. The three-match ODI series is on July 25, 27 and 29. And in that time preparation for ‘Hajj’ will start. Holy ‘Hajj’ will be performed on August 11. That’s why Shakib’s Lankan series is in doubt.
If Shakib goes to perform Hajj he won’t be able to participate in the Canadian Global T20 also. This tournament will start on July 25. This tournament will continue till August 11.
Shakib has played non-stop cricket in recent months. He played in IPL then Tri-nation series and eight matches in the World Cup. So, after all this hassle Shakib wants to refrain himself from Cricket for a bit.
