Shakib might miss the Sri Lanka series

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan might miss the Sri Lanka series in July as he requested Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB) for some rests due to an exhausting World Cup. Although the Sri Lanka series is yet to be declared by BCB due to some security issues. But BCB hasn’t decided anything regarding Shakib’s rest in the upcoming Sri Lanka series.
“ Shakib is tired because of playing non-stop cricket. That why he requested some rest. We are discussing about that,” BCB source said to Cricfrenzy.

Shakib Al Hasan has been phenomenal in this World cup. He has scored 606 runs in this World Cup with an average of 86.57 along with two centuries and five half-centuries. Shakib is the third highest run-getter of this World cup. he has also been successful with the ball in his hand as he picked up 11 wickets in eight matches. He became the only player in the history of World Cup with 600+ runs and 10+ wickets in a single edition of World Cup.
After these remarkable performances Shakib admitted that he felt exhausted in the last two matches against India and Pakistan. But his fitness carried him through this exhaustion. To regain his full stamina Shakib wants a break.
“In the last two matches, I felt exhausted mentally. Nevertheless, my fitness level was good that’s why it helped me,” said Shakib.
Alongside Shakib, Bangladesh batsman Liton kumar Das may also miss the Sri Lanka series as he decided to get married after returning back to Bangladesh. Mahmudullah Riad may also get rested in this series as he is suffering from a calf injury and didn’t bowl in the World cup.
