Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman are the two Bangladeshi players to participate in the Indian Premier League since 2016. Although Shakib started playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011, Fizz joined the T20 league in 2016 and featured in the Sunrisers Hyderabad team for 2 seasons. Shakib played a total of 43 matches for KKR and contributed to the team on their way of achieving the title twice.

KKR did not retain Shakib for the next edition of the league. Therefore he has been listed for the IPL auction scheduled to take place on 27th & 28th January in Bangalore. Mustafiz played a pivotal role for Hyderabad when they won the title in 2016. He has also been named in the players’ list for auction alongside Shakib.

Ahead of the auction, both the Bangladeshis have set their base price at INR 1 crore. The INR 1 crore bracket also consists of names like Lasith Malinga, JP Duminy, Shane Watson, Imran Tahir and Mohammad Shami.
