The unrest follows a missile strike carried out by India on May 7 in response to an earlier incident in Pahalgam, Kashmir.

The strike targeted areas in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. A day later, further drone attacks were reported in multiple locations, including one that hit a building adjacent to Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

As a result, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had to postpone the PSL match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi.

Amid the turmoil, several foreign players participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have requested to either relocate the tournament to Dubai or return home. A foreign cricketer currently in Pakistan earlier confirmed to Cricfrenzy, this growing sentiment among international players and coaching staff.

Bangladeshi cricketers Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana, currently in Pakistan for the PSL, are also being closely monitored by the BCB, which is actively working to ensure their safe return.

The Bangladesh squad, including players like Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, and Towhid Hridoy, was set to travel to Pakistan on May 21 directly from the UAE after completing a two-match T20I series.

However, speaking to Cricfrenzy, BCB President, “At this moment, I can’t say anything for certain. Given the current scenario, the Pakistan tour can be considered uncertain. We’ll hold discussions on Saturday (May 10) to make a final decision. The possibility of shifting the series to Dubai may also come up during the talks.”

While the BCB is weighing its options, the Pakistan Cricket Board remains optimistic. Usman Wahla, PCB's Director of International Cricket, told local media that the board does not foresee any major issues at this time.

“There are still nearly two weeks left before the series. PSL matches are still being played, and we haven’t encountered a situation yet that warrants a cancellation. We remain hopeful about hosting Bangladesh and are in regular communication with the BCB,” Wahla said.
