Bangladesh spin bowling coach Daniel Vettori has said that it becomes a common practice in modern-day cricket where not only spinners but also pacers or batsmen have a common language which breaks the language barriers between player to player and play to coach in everywhere across the world.

Since joining on July 27, 2019 in a BCB stint, the former New Zealand skipper-turned-coach has been working with Bangladeshi spinners. In the meantime, the veteran coach has been working with many players who can barely speak in English.

But it’s not a big problem for Vettori as he can surely understand what a spinner is trying to say or wants to show him and what he has to do with the player as he feels that spinners share a common language.

“In terms of knowledge from previous coaching and playing experiences over the years in the subcontinent, I think spinners have a common language and so it is easy to talk,” said Daniel Vettori, who has vast knowledge in the chance of playing with the teams in this Asian region.

“The common language makes it easy to talk to spinners and you can break a lot of language barriers purely from the fact that you can talk about, or I can talk about my experiences,” Vettori said in an interview to Cricbuzz.

“So, I think that is what gives you the opening and understanding, and then obviously you got to offer a little bit of knowledge and a little bit of help for players to respond to you,” he concluded.
