Comilla Victorians will play for the fifth title, while Fortune Barisal will play for the first title in tomorrow’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Final.

Ahead of the BPL final, the trophy exhibition took place today at capital’s Ahsan Manzil, where Comilla captain Litton Das and Barisal captain Tamim Iqbal were scheduled to go but they opted out of it.

The two vice-captains of both teams, Mehidy Hasan Miraj and Zaker Ali, went there as the two cricketers expressed their thoughts about the final.

Comilla became the BPL champion in the last two seasons. Now they have a chance to become a hat-trick champion. A statistic that will give Comilla extra motivation ahead of the final is that Comilla has never lost a final. Before the last two seasons, Comilla reached the final in 2015 and 2019 and became champions.

Zaker, the vice-captain of the team, said that if they want to win this time, they have to perform well.

“It is not something that we will get a trophy by reaching the final. Comilla has been champion every time with good performances. If we want to win the championship, we have to perform well in the final as well.” Zaker said.

“Comilla are used to play finals. We as a team, know how to perform in big matches. Our focus will be there. Since the match is the final, surely Barisal has come this far by playing well. We respect all teams as opponents. The final will be no exception. We always try to play the best cricket, we will try to play the best in the final as well.” he added.

Barisal all-rounder Miraz has played in the final twice before but could not touch the trophy. Now he wants to remove this regret.

“Never won a trophy in BPL. If I can become the champion, I will be the first champion. Having played the final twice before, this will be the third time. I will play to become a champion. Everyone wants to be champion, Comilla also wants to be. Those who play well on the field will win.” Miraz said.
