Chattogram Challengers opener Tanzid Tamim impressed with his stellar performance, hit his maiden T20 hundred in a commanding fashion to lead his team to a convincing 65-run victory over Khulna Tigers in the Bangladesh Premier League clash held in Chattogram.

This win not only secured Chattogram a spot in the playoffs but also put Khulna in a risky position, where they must win their final match by a significant margin and rely on other results to progress.

Tanzid's innings was the cornerstone of Chattogram's success, as he blazed his way to 116 runs off just 65 deliveries, comprising an impressive array of eight sixes and an equal number of fours.

His century came in a brisk 58 balls, setting the tone for his team's imposing total. Additionally, Tom Bruce's contribution of 36 runs off 23 balls bolstered Chattogram's score, pushing it beyond the formidable 180-run mark.

During the chase, Khulna's hopes were briefly kept alive by skipper Anamul Haque Bijoy's quickfire 35 off 24 balls and Shai Hope's aggressive 31 off 21 balls, featuring three sixes and a four. However, the team faltered under the pressure of consistent wicket losses, ultimately succumbing to 127 all out.

Chattogram's bowling effort was led by their skipper Shuvagata Hom, who showcased his prowess by claiming three crucial wickets for just 25 runs.

Left-arm pacer Bilal Khan also contributed to the team's cause, although his figures were not specified. Overall, Chattogram's comprehensive victory was a testament to their all-round performance, with both bat and ball firing on all cylinders.
