BCL Final: Murad shines for Central as South's Bijoy-Pinak hit fifties

BCB South Zone posted 261 runs for five wickets in 80 overs at stumps against Walton Central Zone during the final of Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur on Sunday.

Wicket-keeper batter Zakir Hossain and skipper Farhad Reza were batting on 44 and 46 respectively at the end of the day’s play.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first openers Pinak Ghosh and Anamul Haque Bijoy made a great start for South Zone. The batters added 137 runs for the opening partnership with Pinak hitting 65 off 161 deliveries which featured 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Bijoy also fell on 76 off 171 following the dismissal of Pinak. Bijoy hit 6 fours and a six to play the knock.

Hasan Murad was the pick of the bowling attack as he grabbed both the wickets and went on to add two more wickets at the close of the opening day.

Left-arm spinner Murad returned figures of four wickets conceding 70 runs in his 21 overs. While, Abu Haider Rony took one wicket for Central Zone.
