Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Chief Executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury stated that the domestic cricket will run even without the national team cricketers if there is an international series in the future.

Bangladesh returned to domestic cricket with the NCL, however it was postponed after two rounds prior to the Corona outbreak. Meanwhile, DPL resumed after 14 months of long wait, excluding the previous round, the rest of the tournament was decided to be held in T20 format.

The chief executive informed that domestic cricket will continue without the players of the national team if necessary while speaking to the media.

“Domestic cricket will not be affected. We have made decision that if domestic cricket clashes with international cricket in the future, we will continue the domestic cricket even without the players taking part in the international game,” said Nizam Uddin.

“We have to keep playing within these limitations. If the schedule clashes, national team players will not be available in domestic cricket,” the BCB chief executive added.

The Bangladesh team will tour Zimbabwe for one Test and three ODIs and equal number of T20Is. Then, England-Australia will visit Bangladesh for short-format cricket ahead of the T20 World Cup at the end of the year.
