Despite the batting disaster in the beginning, Bangladesh won by 3 wickets based on Shakib Al Hasan's unbeaten innings of 96 runs in the second ODI against Zimbabwe Sunday. In the end, Shakib was well supported by Mohammad Saifuddin. The visitors clinched the series with the help of their 69-run unbroken partnership.
Tamim Iqbal praised the batting of both of them. However, the Bangladesh ODI captain could not be happy with the batting unit at all. The left-arm opener said that there was more soft dismissal in the second match of the series.
Opening batsmen Tamim and Liton Das started cautiously but Bangladesh had lost 4 wickets for 75 runs. Shakib managed the team with a decent partnership with Mahmudullah Riyad. After that, he confirmed the victory of the team by teaming up with Mohammad Saifuddin.

Mohammad Mithun returned to the dressing room with a loose shot. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Afif Hossain were out to play unnecessary shots. That is why Tamim could not breathe a sigh of relief with the batting unit.
"We definitely had some plans but as a batting unit we could have done better. I think soft dismissals are a little too much today [Sunday]. It was great to see the way Shakib and Saifuddin batted later” Tamim said at the end of the match.
Although he could not be happy with the batting unit, Tamim praised the bowlers. ODI skipper said that the bowlers did a great job by stopping Zimbabwe for 240 runs. "It was good for the bowlers to keep them at 240," he said.
