Bangladesh received a big blow ahead of their three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe which is set to begin on July 16. Mustafizur Rahman is now a doubtful starter for the white-ball series. As the left-arm pacer suffered an ankle injury while bowling in the only warm-up match on July 14 at Takashinga Sports Club in Harare.
Mustafizur only bowled 0.5 overs in the Tigers' only warm-up game and was seen uncomfortable from the first over of the innings. He left the field without bowling the last ball of the over.

Although the injury is not critical, Mustafiz's participation in the first ODI remains in doubt. When asked at a virtual press conference before the first ODI of the series, Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal claimed there was a fifty-fifty possibility.
"Mustafizur is under physio's supervision. His participation in tomorrow's game is fifty-fifty. We will get good knowledge about his condition today. But right now, his chances of starting tomorrow is fifty-fifty," said Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal during the pre-match press conference today.
Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim has returned home without playing the ODI series against Zimbabwe due to family reasons. However, Tamim's knee injury has not fully healed but will play the entire ODI series.
