Shakib-Miraz shine with ball at day two as Bangladesh ready for the main battle

After a stormy innings of 74 runs with the bat the previous day, this time all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan took three wickets with the ball, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz also took three wickets in the second day of the two-dayer warm-up match against Zimbabwe XI at Takashinga Sports Club Sunday.


On the second day in Zimbabwe, Bangladesh declared the first innings at 313 for two. Zimbabwe selected eleven were all out for 202 runs.


Not only the spinners but also the fast bowlers of Bangladesh also prepared well. Youngblood Shariful Islam took two wickets, one each by Taskin Ahmed and Ibadat Hossain. Abu Zayed bowled in a controlled way even though he did not get any wicket in 7 overs.

Bangladesh got a chance to bat in the second innings in the last afternoon. Tamim Iqbal, who did not bat in the first innings due to injury, recovered a bit this time. Bangladesh scored 22 for none.


Tamim made 18 with four fours but wicket-keeper batsmab Mushfiqur Rahim, who did not bat in the first innings due to a finger injury, was not seen today too.


At the end of the preparation, now it’s time for the main battle. The only Test at Harare Sports Club will start next Wednesday.
