Australia batsman Marnus Labuschagne has been forced to pull out of Glamorgan's T20 Blast match against Middlesex after his compatriot Nick Selman tested positive for COVID-19.

Aussie pace bowler Michael Neser was also pulled out of the squad as he too was in close contact with the duo. Selman plays for Queensland’s youth sides and got along well with the Australian right-hand batter and Neser, who also plays for the same team at the top level.

“The positive test came out at about half-past seven this morning (the day of the game against Middlesex) and as a precautionary measure we kept Marnus out from travelling with us today," coach Matthew Maynard was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au.

While all the other players, coaches, and support staff of Glamorgan have got negative results, Neser and Labuschagne’s reports are yet to come and they won’t take further part in the T20 Blast till their results are out.

“Batsman Nick Selman has tested positive for coronavirus following the results of a PCR test. He will now spend 10 days in self-isolation,” Glamorgan said in a media statement.

Labuschagne has hit 294 runs in six T20 Blast matches at an average of 58.8 with three half-centuries.
