During the match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani Limited of DPL, Shakib al Hasan had kicked the stumps, after the umpire turned down his appeal for an LBW. For this unprofessional act Shakib has been banned for 3 matches, fined BDT 5 lakh. Australia opener Usman Khawaja thinks that Shakib's incident is completely ridiculous.

In a video on his YouTube channel, Khawaja said there is no excuse for the incident as he find the matter hilarious too.

“Obviously the umpires have a tough enough time making decisions. Crickets are hard enough games. It is, let alone someone coming up at your face, kicking the stumps over. You just can't be doing this. Obviously, it's gone through a very tough time in the last year or so, but there's still no excuse. I'm sorry, I shouldn't be laughing about this, but I got to see the humor in this, because as poor as it is, it's just ridiculous,” said Khawaja.

Khawaja has expressed his opinion that this incident of Shakib is unacceptable. Following the match, Shakib issued an apology to the supporters via his official Facebook page but the Aussie opener could not find any reason for the incident.

“I mean, just absolutely outrageous behavior. Even though what he charges to the umpire and stands in his face, the umpire did pretty well just to hold his ground. Honestly, it's bordering assault in someways bordering harassment. The umpires don't deserve that,”

“I still don't really understand what happened. I don't know what happened in the game. Was there a situation that something happened before this? Either way, it is unacceptable. I've seen he has given an apology, but this can't stand,”

However, MSC had applied to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and  Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) for Shakib's remission of the sentence.

Moreover, Shakib is coming to a press conference to clarify his position as his club Mohammedan will hold a press conference at club pavilion on Monday (June 14) at 3:30 pm.
