Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman seems to have understood the reason behind his off-field miseries. The 26-year-old accepted that he gets carried away at times.
Sabbir is currently serving a six month ban from international cricket due to his Facebook fiasco and is now looking forward to prepare himself for the domestic tournament.
The right-handed batsman has received back-to-back suspensions over the last nine months; previously, a six-month ban from domestic cricket and this time, another ban, from international cricket.

“Getting angry isn’t really the matter here. Everyone has anger. I may be very arrogant, so I speak my mind instead of keeping it to myself. Many people don’t like it. People may think it’s my ego or I am too proud. But I am not that type of a person,” Sabbir told Cricbuzz.
More than his performance, it was his wrongdoings that saw Sabbir make the headlines in the recent past. Apart from improving his game, there is one more thing that Sabbir should be working on and that undoubtedly is his anger-management. However, he regrets making all those mistakes and is looking to control his bad temper that landed him in hot water recently.
“Anger is definitely not a good trait. But sometimes I can’t help getting angry. I am trying to improve myself, so that I can talk politely even if someone verbally abuses me. I’m learning certain things,” he said.
It has been more than a week since Sabbir was handed the six-month ban by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The cricketer, however, has been practicing regularly, albeit not at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, as he has been barred from using any facilities provided by the board.
“I am leading a normal life like the way I used to lead earlier,” said Sabbir. “I am regularly doing my practice and working on different areas. I am doing my gym regularly while at present emphasizing on my running session a bit more as that is a key area that can develop my endurance.”
“As I am told that I can’t use anything owned by the BCB that’s why I can’t practice in Mirpur. I am doing my batting and bowling at a field in Mohammadpur while going to a gym in the same area. I go to the Residential School [in Mohammadpur] for running-sessions and playing football. I have kept practicing the way I practice usually,” he said.
