The star of the show was opener Abhishek Sharma, who hammered a brilliant 74 off 39 balls, smashing six fours and five sixes to put India in complete control of the chase.
Partnering with Shubman Gill (47 off 28), Abhishek powered India to 105 inside 10 overs, effectively breaking the back of Pakistan’s bowling attack.
Though Pakistan clawed back briefly with wickets of Gill and Suryakumar Yadav in quick succession, India’s middle order remained composed.
Tilak Varma’s unbeaten 30 off 19 and Hardik Pandya’s steady 7 off 7* ensured India crossed the finish line comfortably with seven balls to spare.
Pakistan’s bowling faltered under pressure. Shaheen Afridi (0/40 in 3.5 overs) and Abrar Ahmed (1/42) proved costly, while only Haris Rauf (2/26) looked threatening.
Earlier, Pakistan posted 171/5, thanks to Sahibzada Farhan’s 58 off 45 and a late cameo from Faheem Ashraf (20 off 8).
India’s bowlers had mixed fortunes, Shivam Dube (2/33) and Kuldeep Yadav (1/31) provided breakthroughs, while Bumrah endured an expensive spell (0/45).
