Asia Cup will start on September 9

The 2025 Asia Cup is set to be hosted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) officially confirmed on Saturday.

The tournament will be played in the T20 format and will feature eight teams, including traditional rivals India and Pakistan. While the complete fixture list is yet to be unveiled, the ACC has assured that more details will be shared soon.

ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced the news on the social media platform X, saying: “I am delighted to confirm the dates for the ACC Men's Asia Cup 2025 in UAE ??. The prestigious tournament will take place from 9th to 28th September. We look forward to a spectacular display of cricket! Detailed Schedule will be out soon. #Cricketwins”
However, uncertainty surrounds the highly anticipated India-Pakistan clash due to rising tensions between the two nations.

Relations have further deteriorated following India's Operation Sindoor in May, a military operation carried out in response to a series of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. The resulting diplomatic strain has cast doubt over the possibility of the arch-rivals facing each other in the tournament.
